Every day, we make choices to do or not do many things. These choices may range from profound to trivial, and each one has an effect that makes our lives more fulfilling or less fulfilling, more balanced or less balanced, that make our process of living more effective or less effective
Nothing, from the earth to the economy, is the same today as it was before. All around us, everything is in a state of constant change.
For example, you are not who you were last year, or last week, or even yesterday.
And so we each must accept that change is a part of life.
Unfortunately, most people find it difficult to embrace change. Those who resist it, and stress about things that are out of their control, are holding themselves back from reaching their goals and full potential.
With the multitude of startups springing up, here is an interesting analogy: It’s time for the Millennial to be an Entrepreneur and think of themselves as the majority shareholder in the start up of their life and take stock of things. What will you vote “yes” for in your life? What will you vote “no” for? In what aspect of your life – relationships, money, health, fun, recreation, and personal growth – do you currently experience the most challenge? Where do you feel trapped? Do you write down your goals or commitments? Do you visualize my achievements?
Take a moment and write down the unique qualities that define you.
The people you spend most of your time with have a strong influence on you. Are you surrounded by negative people? Or do you spend time with people who inspire you? Make a note of people in your personal and professional life with which you associate the most. Your life becomes what you focus on. If you’re not getting the results you are looking for, it is time to re-examine what you focus on. Focus on your innate talents and capabilities. Focus on what you believe is possible and you will see opportunities rather than constraints.
Ask yourself the following questions before you start your day:
- Who Am I becoming? What Would I Do If I Knew I Couldn’t Fail?
- Would you like to find answers to the following question?
- How would you like your life to be?
Think of a situation in your life that doesn’t work as well as you’d like. Describe it.
- How would you like this situation to be different?
- Why is it important that you change this situation?
- If it were different, how would your life be better, more satisfying
- How do you create, promote or allow this situation to exist? What do you do to keep this situation going? What is your responsibility?
- How could you change to improve the situation? In inner ways: attitudes, thoughts, beliefs, expectations, demands, desires, and in outer ways: behavior and action….
- Would the improved situation be worth the required change? In what ways, Yes, in what ways, No….
- What do you need to do, specifically to create the change? Plan of action – step by step?
- Do you choose to change or take the first step towards change?
